Eden of the East is a Japanese-style animated ("anime") series created, directed and written by Kenji Kamiyama, with character designs by Chika Umino and animation production by Production I.G. Eden of the East begins three months after ten missiles have struck uninhabited areas of Japan. The event was dubbed "Careless Monday," as no was was affected by the bombings. A Japanese woman named Saki Morimi visits Washington D.C. on vacation. She runs into a mysterious Japanese man, named Akira Takizawa, who is naked except for a gun and a cell phone with access to a bank account with 8.2 billion yen in money. They travel back to Japan together and learn that another missile has hit Japan. Akira finds out that he has unwillingly become a participant in an intricate game that involves the unidentified money he came to acquire. The game is made up of 12 participants, including Akira. They are given 10 billion yen to save Japan from future, more successful missile attacks.MORE
