Eco Trip is an original Sundance channel documentary series which explores the real cost of man's product consumption on the health of the planet. Each episode investigates how a particular commodity may harm people or the environment and then refreshingly offers a more environmentally friendly solution. The likable eco-adventurer, David de Rothschild is the host of the show. During each episode, he travels around the world and immerses himself and viewers into the step by step procedures needed to create everyday products. He interviews people directly involved in the various industries and consults environmental experts. Through this process he uncovers a variety of harmful side-effects, including things like pesticides, run-off, and deforestation. Eco Trip is fast paced and entertaining. It informs the viewer without imparting judgment or guilt. However, after seeing the negative impact of seemingly simple things like paper napkins, cotton t-shirts, and gold, viewers will be left considering the consequences of just about everything they consume.MORE
