Early Edition

Early Edition is a drama/fantasy series that aired on the CBS network from 1997 to 2000. Kyle Chandler (Friday Night Lights) starred as Gary Hobson, a stock broker turned bar owner who mysteriously received a copy of the Chicago Sun Times one day before everyone else, allowing him a look into the future. Gary carefully brings up the subject of the paper to his close friends Chuck Fishman (Fisher Stevens) and Marissa Clark (Shanésia Davis-Williams). They all decide to use this unique opportunity for good deeds only, and not for selfish reasons. Before long Gary is forced to quit his job due to the amount of time he spends on helping people in trouble. He soon learns that other people have received similar Early Editions and seeks them out in order to get to the bottom of the mystery. Not much about the newspaper's origins were explored, however. With the help of a detective, Gary was able to discover a man named Lucius Snow actually received the paper even before he did. Early Edition was created by Ian Abrams, Patrick Q.
