Dragons' Den is a reality show airing on BBC Two in the United Kingdom. Dragon's Den is based on a Japanese reality show of the same name. The show features a panel of three dragons listening to pitches for new or expanding business ideas. Dragons are highly successful entrepreneurs in various businesses. Each episode features people with ideas for businesses pitching their ideas to the dragons. The dragons then decide whether or not they would like to invest in the project, and if the amount requested by the person pitching the project is financially viable. Dragons can also opt out of the venture altogether if they do not feel the pitch will be sustainable. There have been a few proposals that, while rejected by the dragons, have gone on to become successful ventures. Dragons have included Peter Jones, Simon Woodroffe, Theo Paphitis, Deborah Meaden, Rachel Elnaugh, Richard Farleigh, James Caan, and Duncan Bannatyne. Duncan Bannatyne is the wealthiest of all dragons and the harshest on the contestants and sometimes the other dragons as well. Dragons' Den has been optioned all over the world, including a version on the United States called Shark Tank.MORE
