Dragonaut: The Resonance

Dragonaut: The Resonance is an animated romantic fantasy TV series directed by Manabu Ono, which follows Jin Kamishina, an isolated and solitary eighteen-year-old, who becomes involved with the ISDA, or the International Solarsystem Development Agency, as they set out to stop the threat of an asteroid known as Thanatos and the dangerous and devastating dragons found there. Thanatos would not have been much of a threat if it had not destroyed Pluto before stalling in its old orbit but when the dragons begin to appear on Earth, destroying the cities without any signs of why, the ISDA develop their own weapon: their own set of artificially created dragons who can take on human form and their controllers, the Dragonauts. Jin finds some comfort with a mysterious girl known as Toa, one of the original dragons from Thanatos, after they resonate, or imprint, with each other. Helping them in the fight is Gio, a sword type dragon, who disobeys orders from his dragonaut resonant Kazuki in order to protect Toa. With each battle and time closing in to when Thanatos might continue its path to Earth, Jin and Toa dive deeper into just why the dragons appeared and to what they can do to stop Earth’s destruction.
