Dr. Katz

Dr. Katz: Professional Therapist is a Comedy Central animated series about a professional psychotherapist whose clients are all famous comedians and actors. The series stars Jonathan Katz as himself, with co-stars Jon Benjamin and Laura Silverman. Benjamin plays Ben, Dr. Katz's twenty-four-year-old and hopelessly immature son. Silverman plays Laura, Dr. Katz's despondent secretary, Other recurring characters include Katz's friend Stanley, played by Will Le Bow, as well as Todd the video store clerk, played by Todd Barry. Dr. Katz is almost entirely improvised, with the voice actors having rough outlines of what to talk about and filling in the gaps with off-the-cuff jokes. The series is similar in style and format to Home Movies, another Comedy Central show featuring much of the same cast as Dr. Katz. The many guest stars to appear as Dr. Katz's patients include Conan O'Brien, Ray Romano, and Patton Oswalt. Dr. Katz aired for six successful seasons between 1995 and 2002. MORE
