DogTown is an animal documentary TV series developed by the National Geographic Channel focusing on the work done at the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Southern Utah. DogTown is only a small part of the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, a thirty-three thousand acre facility with over 1700 homeless animals, but the entire organization works on the ideal of kindness with a no-kill program as well as spay and neutering programs. In a country with animal shelters crowded with abandoned and unwanted dogs, stray cats, and neglected creatures, DogTown takes those supposedly 'unadoptable' pets, whether it is due to health concerns or overly aggressive behaviors, in order to show that every animal deserves a home and kindness as well as to show that you can teach an old dog new tricks. Watch the expert staff with passionate volunteers and staff help give these dogs a chance to have a home. The staff, comprised of veterinarians, trainers, and animal behavioral specialists, shows viewers the steps they take to improve these dogs' lives by training them in preparation for adoption and providing them medical care.MORE
