Dinner: Impossible

Dinner: Impossible is an American food television series on Food Network, in which hosts are given crazy food-centered challenges to complete in a limited time frame. At the beginning of each episode, the chef is presented with his assignment and then the clock starts. Together with one or more members of his team of sous chefs, as well as any local staff that may be available, the chef must then complete the culinary challenge using only the ingredients and tools available, before his time runs out. Although the challenges are already challenging enough, from preparing an authentic 18th century American colonial dinner using only tools and methods of the period to preparing a luxury meal on an isolated island in New England, the show often throws extra complications in, just for fun. These have included adding extra guests to feed, midway through the preparation process, or asking for extra entrees once the clock has already started ticking. Chef Robert Irvine hosted the first four seasons, until Food Network found fallacies in his resume and replaced him with Chef Michael Symon for season five. In 2009, Irvine, much-loved by many viewers for his attractive personality and astounding skill in the kitchen, was reinstated as host of Dinner: Impossible. MORE
