Dharma & Greg

Dharma & Greg is the ABC sitcom TV series about newlyweds Dharma (Jenna Elfman) and Greg Montgomery (Thomas Gibson). Dharma and Greg fell madly in love on their first date and married instantly, and now realize they are complete opposites. Dharma is a hippie flower child that is positive and peppy but also can be a ditz and ignore responsibilities. She was home schooled by hippie parents and doesn't understand most Western culture. Greg is an uptight lawyer who's life was banal before he met Dharma, who tries to get him to have fun, enjoy life, and not worry about practical issues like money. They are joined by Greg's mother Kitty, an elite socialite who frowns upon Dharma and her hippie parents join the family. Greg's father Edward plays the wall, trying to remain uninvolved while sneaking martinis and scotch. Dharma's parents are Abby and Larry, free-spirited and slightly crazy hippies who aren't married. The story is a classic "fish out of water" situation, with the two cultures clashing in the newlyweds life together.
