Death Note

Death Note is a Japanese-style animated series on Adult Swim that follows the story of Light Yagami, a precocious high-school student who discovers the "Death Note," a supernatural notebook with the power to kill. A detective known simply as L tries to track down Yagami as he tries to use the notebook to cleanse the world of evil. Created by writer Tsugumi Ohba and manga artist Takeshi Obata, the plot follows Yagami, who begins to resent what he believes to be a world corrupted by crime and immorality. He discovers the notebook, which claims to have the power to kill any person whose name is written within it. Yagami meets Ryuk, the previous owner of the Death Note, and begins down a path of self-righteous justice. His plan: to rid the world of evil and establishing a new world order with the power of the Death Note. The murders of criminals come under the curious eye of L, a detective who decides to uncover the secrets of the Death Note. MORE
