David Copperfield

David Copperfield is a BBC film adapted from the Charles Dickens novel of the same title. Born without a father, young David Copperfield (Daniel Radcliffe) spends his early childhood in the love and company of his mother Clara (Emilia Fox) and housekeeper Peggotty (Pauline Quircke). After Clara's marriage to the stern Mr. Murdstone (Trevor Eve) - and soon after, Clara's death - David's family and life fall apart. Forced out of school and into labor by his stepfather, the orphan David finds himself moving away from the simplicity of childhood toward the more complicated realities of life; even as he finds faithful friendships, he witnesses and feels injustice, betrayal and heartache.
