Crusade, a sci-fi TV series on TNT, is a spin-off of the widely-popular series Babylon 5 by J. Michael Straczynski. Five years after the story of Babylon 5 has left off, the earth has come under attack by the Drakh, who have unleashed a nanovirus on the planet that will destroy all life. The battleship Excalibur sets out on a voyage across the universe in order to find a cure. It's the year 2267, almost six years after the Shadow War. The Drakh set out to destroy Earth's ecosystem with a Shadow Planet Killer. John Sheridan, Intersellar Alliance president, takes command of the Excalibur, along with the Victory, into space to battle the Drakh. The nanovirus weapon is released despite this, and life on planet Earth is threatened.
