Cowboy Bebop

Cowboy Bebop is an animated science fiction-western comedy TV series directed by Shinichiro Watanabe that follows the misadventures of a group of bounty hunters, otherwise known as "cowboys", in the year 2071 as they travel in their spaceship, Bebop. When an explosion left the Moon damaged and Earth covered in radiation, most of the survivors took to the other planets and the moons of Jupiter. Mars is the new central planet though crime syndicates have jumped from being a country-based deal to interplanetary and the Inter-Solar System Police can do little to stop the fugitives, terrorists, and hackers. That leaves it up to others like the crew of the Bebop. Jet Black is cantankerous former ISSP officer with a cybernetic arm. All he wanted was to be left alone in his bounty hunting ways but when he finds Spike Spiegel, his life gets a bit crazier. Spike is a master weaponry and combat fighter, whose carefree and lackadaisical hides a dark past with the Red Dragon Crime Syndicate. Faye Valentine joins the crew accidentally and has very little connecting her to the Bebop, though she keeps coming back. Edward is a young computer genius and hacker, whose childlike nature tends to cover the fact that she's the most intelligent one on the ship. Then there's Ein, a Pembroke Welsh Corgi manipulated to become a "data dog", a creature capable of understanding everything around him, even to the point of playing games against Jet. Cowboy Bebop is considered one of the most popular and well-known Japanese anime series with a definite connection to American music, with jazz and early rock. MORE
