Cold Case Files

Cold Case Files is a documentary crime TV series developed by A&E that follows the various investigations into the reopening of cold cases, which are any cases gone cold with no leads, no more suspects, and ultimately no conclusions, as the detectives utilize all the tools available in modern science and criminal psychology. Solving murders is a difficult job as evidence stockpiles, patterns remained muddled, and the detectives can only work with what their era's technology can give them. Cold Case Files shows each step these new detectives inspect each piece of evidence, reinvestigate witnesses, follow every lead, and put to the test what happens when new eyes and new and improved technology might lead to capturing the killers. Hosted by journalist Bill Kurtis, Cold Case Files has been praised by critics and law enforcement agencies alike as it has been used as a guide in training detectives.
