CMT's Next Superstar

CMT's Next Superstar is the music competition series from Country Music Television, producer Nigel Lythgoe and his son Simon Lythgoe. Nigel is also the producer of hit music series like American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance, and now he is bringing his talents to the country music genre with CMT's Next Superstar. CMT is on the hunt for the next great country music star, searching the country for undiscovered singer-songwriters who might have what it takes. These contestants all head to the country music mecca of Nashville, Tennessee where they live together while working towards their dreams. They think they have what it takes to tackle the tough music industry, and we get to see their triumphs and setbacks in their journey. The housemates must compete with each other in music business-related challenges and performance rounds, being judged by celebrity guests each week. Each week one will be sent home, and the fans will have the final vote to decide who gets the title of CMT's Next Superstar. MORE
