Charmed

Charmed is a TV series that aired on the WB during its original run and on TNT in syndication, about the Halliwell sisters- Prue (Shannen Doherty), Piper (Holly Marie Combs), and Phoebe (Alyssa Milano), and joined in later seasons by half-sister Paige (Rose McGowan). Prue, Piper, and Phoebe move into their childhood home, Halliwell Manor, after their grandmother passes away, and discover in the house their family's secret book, the Book of Shadows. The book reveals that they come from a family of witches, each generation of which is more powerful than the last, culminating in the three sisters who will be the most powerful witches to walk the earth. They gain special powers along with the ability to cast spells and brew potions. Prue's power is telekinesis, Piper's is to affect molecules, freezing people or objects, and later moving them so fast they explode. Phoebe possesses the power of premonition, and can later see visions of the future and past. The sisters have a Whitelighter, or guardian angel, Leo Wyatt (Brian Krause), whom Piper is romantically involved with. They also have friends in the police force, Andy Trudeau (Ted King), a childhood friend and Prue's love interest, and Darryl Morris (Dorian Gregory). They help cover the Halliwell's secret, until Andy is tragically killed and Darryl is almost executed. Phoebe has a husband, Cole Turner (Julian McMahon), who is a demon, and causes disagreements between the sisters as he is often a villain, but after he is killed he still watches over Phoebe. In addition to defeating demons and warlocks individually and with their Power of Three, the girls work at developing their powers and maintaining normal working lives in San Francisco, while keeping their family's secret, finding love despite their unusual circumstances, and getting along despite different viewpoints.
