Carlos: Miniseries is a 3-part drama mini-series that follows the life of Carlos the Jackal. Carlos is an elusive Venezuelan terrorist who executed assassination plots, abductions and bombings throughout Europe and the Middle East. After several flubbed bombings, he finally became known in 1975 for a raid on the OPEC headquarters in Vienna, where three people were killed. Carlos became one of the most wanted international fugitives, and the series explores the man and the times he lived in. The riveting biopic follows Sanchez from 1973 to 1994 as he brings chaos to the Left Back, storms OPEC and carries out numerous other politically charged violent plots. The series took home the Golden Globe Award for Best Miniseries or Television Film, while causing the real Sanchez to threaten legal action against the filmmakers, saying that the series could prejudice future hearings, as he was still on trial for more attacks.
