Caribbean Food Made Easy is the Cooking Channel and Food Network series that follows passionate foodie Levi Roots as he travels around Jamaica and the UK to search out the bright flavors of the Caribbean. Levi was raised in Jamaica, taking in the sights, sounds, and tastes of the country, as his grandmother taught him the magic of tasty Caribbean cooking. When he later moved to England, he found himself quickly homesick for the Jamaican culture. His way of reconnecting with his roots was to spend hours in the kitchen preparing his grandmother's recipes. He worked to refine and perfect her recipe for jerk chicken sauce, and it even led him to appearing on BBC Two's Dragons' Den, where he took home the prize of financial backing for his sauce, which he was then able to sell commercially. He later opened up his first cafe in London, Papine Jerk Centre. A passionate man with a love for reggae music, he has also recorded several albums and was nominated for Best Reggae Singer at the 1998 MOBO Awards. The multi-talented Levi is now taking to television to share his loves, presenting his first cooking show, Caribbean Food Made Easy.
