Captain Harlock is an animated fantasy space opera TV series developed by Toei Animation based on Leiji Matsumoto's manga, Space Pirate Captain Harlock, which centers on a rebellious Captain Harlock, a space pirate who leads his outlaw crew on raids against the foreign invaders. In the very distant future of 2977 A.D., Earth has been able to develop its technology to become a space faring planet. When a foreign invader, the plant-based women of Mazone, come to lay claim over the planet they had explored millennia before, Harlock and his starship Arcadia do their best to make sure the Mazone ever regret trying to oppress their planet.
