Callan

Callan is the British television action series that stars Edward Woodward as David Callan, a professional killer. Callan works for a shadowy branch of the British Government's intelligence called "the Section". The Cold War is taking place, and the East and West are in a back and forth game of deception, a game Callan plays better than anybody. Working for Hunter, Callan is a deadly killer with sharp sight, a strong will, and steady hand. Knowing that there are younger agents coming up and that any mistake could be his last, he takes on every job with the highest importance. The pilot aired in 1967, and the the complex and cold blooded killer Callan caught the attention of the public, and they picked up the series for six episodes later that year. The series ran from 1967 to 1972, propelling Edward Woodward into the spotlight. It even led to a cinema film in 1974, with a bigger budget that let them shoot more on location versus the claustrophobic studios of the series. Callan has retired from The Section, but the Section considers him volatile and dangerous, as he always became too curious about his targets.
