Born to Breed is a reality TV series developed by WEtv channel that centers on women and their families who consider themselves part of a belief system called Quiverfull, a evangelical sect of Christianity that believe children are a gift and birth control should be avoided at all costs. With Quiverfull families sometimes hitting the marker of over eighteen children, Born to Breed follows two moms fully supportive and faithful to the faith and one woman who could not handle both the religious and physical pressure. For Rachel of Orlando, Florida, she is an activist for her faith, having written a book on it, and is a progressive Quiverfull mom in that she believes in both home schooling and mainstreaming her eight children into public education. Wendie of Monument, Colorado prefers to keep her fifteen children at home, as she tries to save money and keep up on the sometimes-massive loads of housework that needs to be done in a relatively small house for seventeen people. While Rachel and Wendie are major proponents for the Quiverfull movement, Vyckie of Norfolk, Nebraska had once been a leader of the faith, even wining a Family of the Year award, but as the demands of a stressful home life with her blind husband and the complications of problematic pregnancies. It all came to a head when her eldest daughter tried to commit suicide while under the watch of a head leader. Born to Breed is part of WEtv's Secret Lives of Women series that centers on the notion that looks can be deceiving and the sometimes hidden aspects of women's lives.MORE
