Blood+ is a Japanese-style animated ("anime") series inspired by the 2000 anime film Blood: The Last Vampire. Blood+ (pronounced "Blood Plus") follows Saya Otonashi, a school girl who suffers from both anemia and amnesia. One day she is attacked by a chiropteran, a type of bat. She finds out that only she can defeat them, and she sets out with her family, friends and her katana to rid the world of them. The story unfolds as we learn more about Saya's deep past and personal identity. Throughout the 50 episodes, Saya and her crew visit locations across the clube, fighting chiropterans along the way. The series is set in present day Okinawa City in Okinawa, Japan. The series is produced by Production I.G and Aniplex. It is directed and written by Junichi Fujisaku. The series aired in Japan from October 2005 to September 2006. Fujisaku was involved in not only the anime, but the novelization of the movie that inspired the anime.MORE
