Birds of Prey is a drama series based on the DC comic book collection of the same name. Taking place in New Gotham City in a post-Batman world, the show centered on three heroines determined to carry on the caped crusader's legacy. The three main characters are Helena Kyle/Huntress (Ashley Scott), the daughter of Batman and Catwoman; Barbara Fordon/Oracle (Dina Meyer), daughter of Commissioner Gordon and one-time Batgirl; and Dinah Redmond (Rachel Skarsten), a stranger to New Gotham with telekinetic abilities. Mia Sara portrayed Dr. Harleen Quinzel/Harley Quinn, former lover of The Joker and the show's main antagonist. Despite a ravenous fan following, Birds of Prey was canceled after only thirteen episodes. The series was conceived by Laeta Kalogridis (writer of Shutter Island) and executive produced by Mike Tolin, Brian Robbins, and Shawn Levy.
