Bill Nye: The Science Guy

Bill Nye: The Science Guy is an educational children's program originally aired from 1993 to 1997. The episodic show featured scientific topics specific to each episode. The idea of Bill Nye was to make learning fun for children through humor. Nye was a sketch comedian who gained popularity relating to science working on the Back to the Future animated series in live action segments. The show would include a trip to Nye Labs where he would then engage the viewers in science discussion mixed with humor. Each episode would be summarized with a parody of a popular song of the time in which the original lyrics would be replaced with science terms like "Fossil Man" instead of Elton John's "Rocket Man." The show would end with Bill Nye leaving Nye Labs with a reason related to the topic on hand. Other stars of the show included Pat Cashman, Ernie Anderson, Gary Owens, and Brian Cummings.
