Being Erica

Being Erica is a Canadian television drama series on CBC. The show revolves around the life of thirty-two-year-old Erica Strange (Erin Karpluk) who has recently been fired from her dull customer service job because she is overqualified. That causes her to reconsider her life and conclude that the failure it has become is due to mistakes in her past. She has trouble dealing with her regrets, so she starts seeing a therapist, Dr. Tom Wexlar (Michael Riley), an eccentric man with what turns out to be a very unique gift. Dr. Wexlar can send Erica back in time so that she may relive the moments which she regrets and change her actions and their effects! It sounds like a dream, right? Well, it turns out that changing history is not that simple, after all. While in the past, she does not receive much guidance from Dr. Wexlar and must thus figure out why her choice was wrong and how to make a better one almost entirely on her own. Its creative premise and multi-dimensional characters have made Being Erica quite a success, lasting for multiple seasons. MORE
