Be Good Johnny Weir is an eight-part documentary mini-series on the Sundance Channel. The show premiered on January 18th, 2010 and follows national figure skating champion and well-known personality Johnny Weir as he trains to become one of the best skaters in the world. Though Johnny reached superstar status through his extraordinary figure skating talents, he is known internationally for his extroverted personality and loud, flamboyant personal style. Born and raised in Coatesville, Pennsylvania, this small-town boy didn't start skating until the ripe old age of twelve- practically unheard of in the figure skating world. However, it wasn't long before Johnny became a well-known champion, winning the title of World Junior Champion at age 16 and moving on to place 5th at the 2006 Winter Olympics. Be Good Johnny Weir chronicles Johnny's rise to the top and offers a look into his daily training routine- which is a lot more grueling than his outward appearance might suggest. The show follows Johnny around the globe as he competes in preparation for the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. Be Good Johnny Weir was directed and produced by James Pellerito and David Barba for the Sundance Channel.MORE
