Baby Bob

Baby Bob was an American sitcom that ran on CBS from March 2002 - April 2003 as a midseason replacement. The theme of the series focused on the life of new parents Walter Spencer (Adam Arkin) and Lizzy Spencer (Joely Fisher) as changes take place in their life with the arrival of six-month old baby Bob (voiced by Ken Hudson Campbell). The parents soon learn that their child has the ability to speak like an adult, which Lizzy wants to show off to family and friends, in particular her mother, Madeline (Holland Taylor). Walter, on the other hand, does his best to keep it a secret. Real infants were used to play the character of Baby Bob, however computer editing helped achieve the adult voice heard while the character is talking. Despite bad reviews, the series premiered with strong ratings, only to have them quickly decline during the first season. Six episodes ran in 2002 with CBS planning 13 for its second season, however it was cut to just eight after the station's focus shifted to the new series, My Big Fat Greek Wedding. In the end, the character of Baby Bob outlasted the series in recent years, with hilarious commercials for Quiznos and FreeInternet.com that still run today. MORE
