Babar is an animated children's TV series directed by Larry Jacobs for the CBC and HBO based on the Jean de Brunhoff's Babar book series, which focuses on King Babar's life filled with adventures and tests as he retells the tales to his children. When a hunter had killed his mother, Babar fled the jungle and found himself befriended in the big scary city by an old lady who took care of him, even buying him clothes and sending him to school. Babar had been a young elephant with a thirst for travel and adventure, an interest that allowed him to bring his knowledge back to the forest in order to build the kingdom of Celesteville. He's exceptionally protective of his family, which includes his lovely wife Celeste, his mischievous brother-in-law Arthur, and his four kids, triplets Pom, Flora, and Alexander, and Isabelle. As his young children grow, Babar does his best to teach others that it takes strength to overcome any problems and to never become discouraged.
