As Time Goes By

As Time Goes By is a sitcom that aired on BBC One from 1992 to 2005 for 9 seasons. After an all too brief meeting one summer in the early 1950s, Lionel Hardcastle (Geoffrey Palmer) and Jean Pargetter (Judi Dench) have drifted apart. As a Second Lieutenant in the military, Lionel was sent to Korea quickly after the two met and they never got the chance to reconnect. Lionel eventually gets married to a woman named Margaret and moves to Kenya. After years of working and living in Kenya together, however, they decide to get a divorce. Jean has also been married and still living in England, though her husband has passed away. She is living now with her daughter, Judith (Moira Brooker). Jean and Judith run a secretary service called "Type for You". The series begins as Lionel randomly selects Type for You as the service to type his new book about living in Kenya. Once Lionel and Jean recognize each other, sparks once again begin to fly and hijinks ensue. MORE
