Any Human Heart is the Channel 4 adaptation of the William Boyd novel Any Human Heart. The story follows the life long journals of Logan Mountstuart. Mountstuart had a very interesting life, spanning events like war, the death of a prime minister, and the abdication of a king, but his journey took unpredictable and tumultuous turns. The protagonist says that "every human being is a collection of selves...we never stay just one person.", and we join him along his path, with the events of the 20th century playing as a backdrop. Logan does everything from drinking absinthe with Ernest Hemingway to having a spat with Virginia Woolf and a possible sexual encounter with Evelyn Waugh. The fascinating character of Logan is at times a novelist, war correspondent, father, spy, prisoner of war, and a lover, and we follow along for the highs and lows of his life.
