Anchorwoman

Anchorwoman is a partially scripted comedy/reality television series hybrid that aired on Fox in August 2007. Anchorwoman follows Lauren Jones, former swimsuit model and Miss New York Pageant Winner, as she aspires to become an anchorwoman at KYTX in Tyler, Texas. The buxom blonde must try to get her act together if she wants her wishes of becoming a hard-hitting news anchor to come true. Phil Hurley, owner of KYTX, brought Jones in to try and reinvent KYTX’s image and attract renewed interest to the flailing news channel. Jones’ apparent lack of respect for the serious profession, and less than professional manner, resulted in Anchorwoman received lots of negative criticism, especially from female news anchors across the United States of America. The show was cancelled after airing only one episode and, upon the show’s cancellations, speculations came out that the contract between KYTX and Jones may have been only for the sake of the show, and that Jones was not employed as a real news anchor for the channel.
