America's Toughest Jobs is an NBC reality television show that put contestants through a series of challenges based on dangerous real-life occupations. Following the success of the recent wave of hazardous-career shows like Deadliest Catch, Ice Road Truckers, and Ax Men, America's Toughest Jobs turns the daily grind of dangerous laborers into a competition for quick cash. At the end of each episode their performances are critiqued by industry professionals, who declare the winner and loser. The loser is then eliminated from the show. Among the exciting jobs featured throughout the series is crab fishing in the Bering Sea, as well as Alaskan ice-road truck driving as featured in Ice Road Truckers. In one episode, contestants learn the perilous trade of bullfighting in San Angelo, Texas. In another episode, contestants had to complete a mountain rescue mission at Mount McKinley.
