America: The Story of Us is a six-part historical documentary developed by the History Channel that chronicles the history of the United States of America through the narration of Live Schreiber, computer-generated special effects, and historical recreations. It utilizes insights and thoughts from America’s most respected, best, and brightest, including artists, business leaders, academics, and historians. America: The Story of Us shares the distinct differences of the first two successful British colonies, one in Jamestown with its tobacco farms and ultimate use of slaves, the other in Plymouth with its hardworking and religious stalwarts as it focused on shipbuilding. It looks in-depth into the multiple wars, including the Revolutionary, Civil, and World Wars, the exploitation and exploration of the American West, the Industrial Revolution, and the civil rights movements.
