Air Gear is a 2006 Japanese anime based on the manga of the same title by Ito "Oh Great" Ogure. Its premise revolves around the invention of Air Treks - essentially motorized in-line skates with limited flight capabilities. The main character of the series is Itsuki "Ikki" Minami (Kenta Kamakari, Chris Patton), a middle-school aged Air Trek rider and member of the Air Trek team called the Kogarasumaru. He is joined by Kuu, a small crow that lives inside his hair, and his best friends Onigiri (Masami Kikuchi, Greg Ayres) and Kazuma "Kaza" Mikura (Kenn, Clint Bickham). Ikki quickly rises the ranks of the Air Trek riders because of his Air Trek's special ability to manipulate the wind, creating an air vacuum he calls "null space" to achieve greater acceleration.
