The Adventures of Superman is the original 50's live action television show based on the classic DC comics super hero, starring George Reeves, and is now available on Cartoon Network. The show had 6 seasons, originally aired from 1952-1958 - half of which were filmed in color, but not released that way till it was in syndication in 1965. George Reaves is the first actor to portray Clark Kent, better known by his alter-ego Superman. Saved from the dying planet Krypton by his father Jo-rel, and sent to earth as an infant, Clark Kent grew up living as one of the ordinary people, but carrying amazing alien powers. As an adult, he moved from the small farm town Smallville to the great urban city Metropolis. As mild mannered Clark Kent, he took on a job at the Daily Planet as a journalist. But as Superman, he dawned the red cape and blue tights to protect the people of Metropolis from the forces of evil that wish it harm.MORE
