Absolutely Fabulous is a BBC sitcom created by and starring Jennifer Saunders, who plays the lovable London socialite Edina Monsoon who is eternally caught between the conflicting life advice of her wise adolescent daughter and her debaucherous best friend. Edina Monsoon and Patsy Stone (Joanna Lumley) have been best friends for years, and they share an affection for fashion, fads, booze, cigarettes, and the relentless pursuit of cosmetic beauty. Edina has found success as the owner of a major PR company, a position she acquired largely through knowing the right people at the right times. Edina's daughter, Saffron, sees Patsy as a negative influence on her mother. Saffron tries to balance out Patsy's influence by playing the voice of reason for her mother, trying her best to keep her out of control mother from going off the deep end.
