Aaahh!!! Real Monsters

Aaahh!! Real Monsters is an animated kid's black comedy television show that ran from 1994 to 1997 on Nickelodeon. The show is about three monster adolescents, Ickis (Charles Adler), Oblina (Christine Cavanaugh), and Krumm (David Eccles), who attend a monster school, under a city dump, where they study the art of frightening humans. Many of the twenty-two to twenty-four minute episodes revolve around the adventures that the three monster friends have on their class assignments-venturing to the aboveground world and performing "scares." Thanks to Ickis's nerves, Oblina's stuck-up little-miss-perfect attitude, and Krumm's acrophobia, the scares do not always go as planned. And that is when The Gromble (Gregg Berger), their intimidating headmaster and the show's main antagonist, steps in. Full of dark humor and disturbing, but funny, moments, Aaah!! Real Monsters was a relative success, despite the cancellation of plans to produce a film based on the series, due to the story being "too dark or disturbing" for children. MORE
