26 Men

26 Men was a black and white western television series which aired on ABC from 1957 to 1959, compiling a total of 78 episodes. The show was about the elite group of Arizona Rangers tasked with protecting the Arizona territory and maintaining order. Originally commissioned in 1901, they were limited to 26 men due to financial constrictions. 26 Men was based on true incidents that these brave men faced in the last days of taming the Wild West. The program was based on the case files of the real life Captain Thomas H. Rynning (Tristram Coffin). The show's other star, Clint Travis (Kelo Hendersen) was one of the Arizona Rangers. Hendersen's role would eventually help him win a Golden Boot Award in 2003 for his work in westerns. The show also had many notable guest stars including Robert Blake, Leonard Nimoy and Don Haggerty. Residents of Phoenix were able to play many of the supporting roles as the show was shot on location in Arizona. MORE
