12 oz. Mouse

12 oz. Mouse is an animated television series that ran for two seasons on the Adult Swim programming block on Cartoon Network. The show focused on Mouse Fitzgerald (also known as "Fitz," "Butch," or "Mouse," an antisocial, alcoholic sociopath who is out to uncover a conspirarcy. Unfortunately the viewer is not given much to work with, and the show's nonlinear development makes for a challenging watch. Created by Matt Maiellaro (co-creator of Aqua Teen Hunter Force) and produced by Williams Street for Adult Swim, the series featured a crude animation style with sketchy drawings and minimal animation. The main protaganist Mouse Fitzgerald engaged in neefarious behavior, including using firearms while intoxicated in homidicial acts without rhyme or reason. The plot, or lackthereof, moves back and forth beween an undiscolsed conspiracy that is never revealed as to its true nature. Matt Maiellaro was influened by the works of the Theatre of the Absurd, surrealism film and the works of David Lynch. Much is left to interpreteation, as the series ended without resolving the plot. e indicated that the development of 12 oz. Mouse was influenced in part by the Theatre of the Absurd, and surrealistic films such as those by director David Lynch. Written in serial format, each episode picks up where the previous one left off. MORE
