USC Shoah Foundation Institute for Visual History and Education is a non-profit organization that was established in 1994 by award-winning film director Steven Spielberg after the completion of his Academy award-winning film ÔShindler's List'. The institution was originally founded and aimed towards the videotaped testimonials of Holocaust survivors and witnesses and has an archive with almost 52,000 taped testimonials. As of 2006, the Foundation was renamed to its current title and partnered with and relocated to the campus of the University of Southern California and is apart of the College of Letters, Arts & Sciences. The mission of the Foundation is Ôto overcome prejudice, intolerance, and bigotry Ð and the suffering they cause Ð through the educational use of the Institutes visual history testimonies.' MORE
