The New Yorker is an American magazine that began in 1925 and contains essays, fiction, poetry, criticism and reportage with over 1 million subscribers. It debuted on February 21, 1925 and was founded by Harold Ross and his wife, Jane Grant. The New Yorker is well respected for its taste in fiction writers, having published short stories by John Cheever, Roald Dahl, Vladimir Nabokov, Philip Roth, J.D.
