The Laugh Factory presents exclusive web video series that capture some of the hilarious performances happening at the internationally-renowned Los Angeles comedy club, as well as original web series created by notable Laugh Factory alumni. The Laugh Factory was created in 1979 by Jamie Masada, a sixteen-year-old comedy fanatic who was disappointed in the corruption and low quality of Los Angeles' few comedy clubs. With nothing but a small loan and a lot of enthusiasm, Jamie opened The Laugh Factory as a refuge for comedians who were fed up with being taken advantage of by club owners. In a spectacular vote of confidence, comedy star Richard Pryor performed the first-ever set at The Laugh Factory, drawing the public's attention to the fledgling club and encouraging lesser-known comedians to give the place a chance. Since those humble beginnings, the club has grown to be one of the most respected venues in the country, hosting such lauded comics as Adam Sandler, Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock, Ellen DeGeneres, Roseanne Barr, Bob Saget, Jim Carrey, and many more.
