The Biography Channel is an American digital cable television channel that is owned and operated by A&E. The cable channel is based on the television series of the same name and began its programming in 1999. As of 2006, The Biography Channel became the exclusive home for the Biography series, which was ultimately dropped from the A&E network. Outside of the Biography series, the channel also airs programming that is fiction, non-biographical, along with series that previously aired on A&E such as; ‘Murder She Wrote’ and ‘The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes’.
