Snag Films is an online library of documentaries that can be broadcast and shared throughout the web. Started in 2008 by founder Ted Leonsis, Snag Films boasts over 1600 different titles and is growing every day. Available movies on the website range from full-length, large budget productions like Supersize Me and Life & Times of Harvey Milk to documentary shorts filmed by amateurs in their back yard. While more and more motion pictures are pirated and stolen, Snag Films encourages viewers to promote and spread the message of the films in their libraries. Users can stream videos directly from the site itself for free, and if they want to spread the word, they can post a film anywhere on the internet by simply enabling a widget. Choosing to stick with documentaries, Snag Films seems poised to make a change in one way or another, as charitable donations are suggested based on the nature of whatever film is being watched, often chosen by the filmmakers themselves.
