NYC TV is a highly recognized group of broadcast television and cable channels that is operated by NYC Media Group, a division of the New York City Department of Information Technology and Communications. NYC TV has received 106 New York Emmy nominations and 42 New York Emmy Awards. The group has also been considered to be the catalyst behind the growing trend of Ôlocalism' in contemporary broadcast television throughout the United States. NYC TV was launched in 2003 and co-founded by two of Mayor Bloomberg's aides, Seth Unger and Arick Wierson as a replacement for the previous network ÔCrosswalks Television'.
