Media That Matters Film Festival was created by the non-profit organization Arts Engine and aims to promote socially aware short films. Media That Matters Film Festival has positioned itself as the premiere stage to showcase these diverse and inspirational short films. Come June, twelve short films are selected and presented at the festivals launch in New York City, followed by a world premiere at the IFC Center and concluded with an awards ceremony at HBO. All of the filmmakers are honored and some receive cash as well as sponsorships from foundations and corporations.
