Started in 1975 by Franz Koch as Koch International, Koch Entertainment was bought out by and now exists under the name E1 Entertainment. Originally Koch was an Austrian music distribution company dedicated to releasing German and classical music. By 1991, however, Koch had expanded to become one of the preeminent music, film, and television distribution companies in the world. In 1995 Koch acquired the Toronto based company, E1 Entertainment, which was later bought by Canadian conglomerate Entertainment One. With talent in genres like R&B, Hip-Hop, Country, Pop, Rock, Jazz, Christian, and Classical, Koch Entertainment established itself the largest independent national distributor in the United States.
