Gourmet magazine is the premiere resource for the culinary passionate people of the world. It is the first magazine that was devoted specifically to food and wine and was founded by Earle R. MacAusland and his first publication was in 1941. Today the magazine also covers good living in addition to its mainstay topics. As of 2009 the publication ended its run citing a decline in advertising sales and a shifting interest in food among its readership. The brand now focuses on book publications, television programming and recipes that appears on Epicurious.com. After its announcement of cancelling its printed magazine, the company launched ÔGourmet Adventures with Ruth' on PBS as a follow up to its predecessor series, also on PBS, entitled ÔGourmet's Diary of a Goodie'.
