The EPA (The Environmental Protection Agency) is a formulated agency of the federal government that writes laws, regulations, and restrictions from laws passed by congress that help protect the human condition and the environment and community in which we live. The EPA was formed under the Richard Nixon Presidential Administration in winter of 1970. The agency is not considered a governmental branch or cabinet, but the administrator of the agency is considered to hold a cabinet title. Currently consisting of 18,000 full-time employees, the EPA is probably best known for its clean air acts that put restrictions on automobile emissions in an effort to reduce ozone depletion an increase the quality of the air we breathe.
