The Dole Institute of Politics is primarily an avenue for funding and sponsorship and is located on the University of Kansas campus. The Institute was founded by former Presidential Candidate Bob Dole (Robert J. Dole) and is a non-partisan organization that has given scholarship and sponsorship to many on-campus programs for both major political parties. The most notable sponsor is the annual Dole Lecture, which always features a nationally prominent figure addressing some aspect of current politics and/or policy. Each year a cash reward of $25,000 is given as the Dole Leadership Prize to someone of great political and influential knowledge and success.
